Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and as many of you know my new favorite wine is usually the wine that is in my glass at the time because I simply don't bother to drink wine that I don't like. This week I want to talk about a wine from Italy.
As I mentioned last week we Americans seem to be fascinated by things Italian and the wines of Italy are no exception. I recently opened a bottle of wine that I brought back from my last trip to Italy. It is a vintage 2000 Lamole di Lamole Chianti Classico. Lamole is a beautiful picturesque town near Greve in the Tuscany region of Italy. This is a large vineyard property which is still in the process of restoration. It incidentally is also home to a fabulous Bed & Breakfast. The 2000 vintage was very good in Tuscany as a whole and what Lamole di Lamole managed to do with it was quite impressive. The Sangiovese wine is aged in small barrels and is showing very well now but I will say has a aging potential that makes me very curious to taste the Chianti Classico Riserva from the Lamole di Lamole winery for the 2000 vintage. The wine has deep rich fruit and although is great for meals I must say that I could enjoyed it all by itself just as well. You will probably have the best luck finding this wine by going on line to track it down and order it. It will probably run you just over twenty dollars and that is a bargain in my book. Remember to send your wine questions to Linda at vine to wine dot net and thanks for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
