I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for May 12, 2014.

The Pacific Northwest cattle market continued with strong prices last week. USDA Grain and Livestock Reporter Greg Sanders shares an regional overview from last week’s cattle markets.Sanders: “Well, things were pretty active again this week. Got six-weight steers got all the way up to $2 for fall delivery. Cows rebounded again yesterday too. Cows are still up there like at the top of $106 per hundred weight. Everything is looking pretty good. Yea, there is a lot being sold, especially on the calf contract — everybody’s getting pretty ambitious there are still some holdouts — cuz everybody is bullish on this market — but they are still selling them. These are the highest prices they’ve ever received — so nobody is turning them down very much.”Chicago July Wheat ended Friday down 12 and 3/4 cents at 7-22 and 1/2.
