Wheat Market Up Slightly
I'm KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for January 29, 2014.March Chicago wheat ended modestly higher with help from Egypt's purchase of 60,000
metric tons of soft red winter wheat and cold weather concerns for winter wheat crops. From the floor of the CME Group, Joe Vaclavik shares his observations of Tuesday's markets.
Vaclavik: "Grain markets were mixed here on a cold Tuesday here in Chicago. The corn market attempted to trade higher but finished the day near unchanged. This is a market that doesn't have a lot of news out there right now. We're trading very very tight ranges in corn and trading even tighter ranges in wheat. The soybean market is the one that we are seeing bigger ranges. The reality of the situation is that these markets have slowed down."
