The Idaho Dairy Products Commission Chief Executive Officer Karianne Fallow and I had ca chat about Dr. Oz. "As you may have seen Dr. Oz wrote an article about milk in a real negative light. It appeared in the Idaho Statesman and in the Idaho Press Tribune and Dr. Oz brings his celebrity power to the table, however his article cited that he had inconclusive data upon which he was basing his assumptions about milk. My response is twofold: one, to set the record straight about nutritional benefits of milk and two, because we owe it to our dairy farmers, our investors in the United Dairymen of Idaho to respond and defend the industry. Would it be fair to say that Dr. Oz should shoot when his gun is not fully loaded? Well said. Dr. Oz and his colleague really tried to change perceptions about the nutritional value of milk and milk products and wildly alluded negatively towards cow milk the article at the road still recommended at the end of the day, a glass or two of milk. There is no nutritional value they probably wouldn't recommend, right? One would think.
