Immigration Waiting In the Wings & Sweet Studies

Immigration Waiting In the Wings & Sweet Studies plus It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Northwest Report.

Congress has their hands full right now with 2 major issues, the farm bill and immigration. Something must be settled with the farm bill before the end of September and of course a lot of attention is now being focused on the immigration bill according to Congressman Doc Hastings.

HASTINGS: The House has passed out of two different committees, four pieces of legislation. I think the Judiciary Committee will pass out another piece of legislation either this week or next week. They may at the end of the day all be combined into one piece but we are addressing the very various complex part of the immigration on a piece by piece basis and I think that’s the proper way to do it so that we can look at each individual area and try to understand what needs to be fixed.

Boise State has send 4 students to the roof of the student union for a class. Not as a punishment but because they have located 4 honey bee hives up there. The medium sized bee farm on the roof is being tended by 4 environmental studies students and the plus side is more honey than they know what to do with. The idea was the brainchild of a former student union director.

So you are thinking about Christmas! Gary Crawford reports.
