7-4 IAT Payette Brew

If I were to choose things I would like to do most, to be very honest it would not be going to baby showers. That said, I went to one the other night and it broke the mold. The parents to be held the shower at the Payette Brewing Company down on 33rd and Chinden. Brand new little spot with absolutely fabulous draft beers. Being a big fan of I P A’s, I wasn’t disappointed. Where did this place come from? Let’s ask the young kid who started it, Mike Francis. “I was living in Seattle and working at Boeing and was not a fan of my job there. I was home brewing at the time and thought it was time to try something different. I quit my engineering job there and went to brewing school in Chicago. After that, I went back to Seattle and worked at a brewery for a little while but wanted to open my own back in Boise because I grew up here. I saw a need for some more local beer so I moved back here 2 ½ years ago. We have been open for 9 months now and we I just cranking away. Our sales good? It is going really well so far. We added some tank capacity back in October and looking to add some more here this summer. Most of the malt I use in my beer is grown in Idaho and as far as the hops are concerned my broker buys most of the hops here in Idaho as well.
