Earthquakes and Tornadoes Oh My & TTIP plus Saving Money and Time

Earthquakes and Tornadoes Oh My & TTIP plus Saving Money and Time. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Northwest Report.

I was born in Central California where there are frequent earthquakes and grew up on the plains of Kansas where tornadoes wreck havoc. But here in the northwest lately it has seemed these natural disasters have been following me. A 4.3 earthquake struck late Wednesday near Entiat, Washington and a tornado was reported in the small NW Oregon town of Birkenfeld. Two weeks ago an F-1 tornado did some damage in McMinnville, Oregon.

The President has announced a new proposed free trade agreement between the U.S. and European Union - and Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership earlier this year. Obama says trade that is fair and free across the Atlantic supports millions of good paying American jobs.Several groups in agriculture - including the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association - support the effort to open new and expand existing European markets. NCBA Vice President of Government Affairs Colin Woodall says the TTIP is very intriguing.

WOODALL: It brings up the issue of non-trade barriers. Things that are put into place that are not based on science so when it comes to the EU we have a lot of those. So the fact that we’re having this conversation to try to get some changes made to what’s going on in the EU.
