5-20 SS Amy Spoon
That was a snippet coming from an article in the Horns and Hooks Western Outdoor Adventure Magazine written by Amy Spoon, habitat biologist for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Just Google Amy Spoon Washington and you’ll see a beautiful young woman surrounded by all kinds of trophies… Elk racks, fish, you name it, she’s done it. She agreed to write regular articles for Horns and Hooks and has agreed to be a regular on sportsman spotlight. “It’s great. I looked up with Rex at a sportsman show and we were talking about his magazine and I was excited that there was a local magazine coming out and I told him, like I have told some other magazine, that what is lacking is something specifically geared towards women. Every once in a while there is something in there but there is never anything totally dedicated each month to a review on women’s gear, stories for women and just tips and things for women specifically so he said do you want to do it and I said sure that is how I got hooked up with that and ever since then I have been writing an article in each issue. Review on women’s equipment, gear, clothing, stories from my experiences and hunts and it has been a lot of fun.
