Census of Ag & New Research Director plus Trouble with Breakfast

Census of Ag & New Research Director plus Trouble with Breakfast. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Northwest Report.

The deadline has passed for the 2013 Census of Ag but according to Ag Secretary Vilsack, there is still time to participate.

VILSACK: If you have not responded, it’s not too late. Every voice counts. Local and national leaders use the census to make decisions that directly impact your operation, your community and your industry so complete and return your census form today.

James Moyer has been named director of Washington State University's Agricultural Research Center. He will also serve as associate dean for research for the College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences. He is tentatively slated to take up his roles at WSU on May 1.A renowned plant pathologist, Moyer has focused his research on virology - in particular, the population structure and dynamics of tospoviruses. He has made contributions to sweet potato pathology and cultivar development, was awarded a patent for fingerprinting ornamental plant cultivars and is involved in numerous national and international activities.

Now trouble eating breakfast in the morning? Gary Crawford has more.
