12-5 SS Elk Murder

 The mind set of a moron. Wait a minute, I feel more strongly than that. The mind set of a murderer. I’m DS… I got a press release from IDAHO FISH & GAME saying they were seeking information regarding some elk poaching incidents. Accompanying the press release were pictures of a dead cow and a dead bull. The bodies were complete and in fact, the bull was a 5x5 with a pretty good-sized rack. I can understand the twisted logic of a poacher who takes an animal illegally for purposes of feeding a family or getting a trophy cape to mount on the wall. At least there’s a motive there. But to kill 2 animals and leave them lying in the snow suggests a whole different scenario. A scenario which involves a demented expletive deleted. I called IDAHO FISH & GAME  spokesperson Greg Losinski for his interpretation: ““Unfortunately incidents like this occur much more often than we probably would like to acknowledge. Poaching to feed the family is something that we have heard about in the past. Nowadays it seems like people are just going out to be there thrill kill or maybe go out and shoot something that has a commercial value but unfortunately many cases exist where people just go out to shoot something for the heck up shooting. “ In my mind, there is no question but in a case like this the question becomes: Who is the animal here? The shooter or the victim?
