 The Idaho potato commission’s money at work. I’m David Sparks… You often wonder about whether or not promotions actually work. I know that the Idaho potato commission put together the spud truck idea wherein what may be the largest mobile potato on earth was running around the country getting the word out about Idaho potatoes. Funny thing happened to me. I’m on a hunting trip in South Carolina a couple of weekends ago and while I’m sitting in the Lodge watching a football game before going out in the field I see this TV spot with the Idaho potato truck. I mean this promotion, which has been launched twice, has been going on for some time. No wonder Don Odiorne from the potato commission and these feelings. “ We are launching the potato truck again? I am so excited we are doing that. I think it was a home run the 1st time it got suggested by a local advertising agency.”Local with a long reach.
