“Global 500 has gone from a powerful event to an astounding event,” said Dr. Pearse Lyons, president and founder of Alltech. “In a few short years we’ve managed to get some of the industry’s most successful producers to attend and get involved in discussions that are paving the way to a future of opportunity and profitability.”

Producers and industry leaders will have the opportunity to network, discuss and discover new opportunities and challenges for 2013 at the Global 500 meeting hosted by The Alltech Company in Lexington Kentucky in December. The program will feature presentations on branding, social media in agriculture and finding new opportunities in challenging times. I’ve done a couple of stories on efficiency in feeding cattle with scientists from University of Idaho. Apparently it is a major topic area as we now learn from Elizabeth Chaney  who is the On-Farm Dairy  Marketing Coordinator for Alltech: “Mainly it’s feeding your herds to their genetic potentials. all tech is focusing on Neutragenomics meaning the way that nutrients effect gene expression. A lot of what we will be discussing are things that we have found through 30+ years of research and perhaps rethinking the rumen and rethinking the way we are feeding our animals.” Again, the intention behind the meeting is to explore and share new strategies and technologies to make dairy and beef production more efficient
