This fight will probably never end as the Idaho Supreme Court kicks domestic sheep ranchers in their collective backsides.

Idaho Supreme Court justices ruled against Idaho sheep ranchers recently by telling them they had to leave their grazing land. According to the Idaho Wool Growers Association and many  sheep ranchers, the state faltered on promises that they would not lose their grazing allotments in the Payette National Forest. I talked to a very unhappy Stan Boyd, executive director of the Idaho Wool Growers Association: “Who drives that Stan? It’s the forest service. As we are talking about is our national forest service lands. They manage and through their annual operating instructions, dictate what have to take place on those allotments and if they decide they don’t want you on part of it, they terminate the allotment. That’s kind of a dictatorial position isn’t it? Based on what evidence do they say that you cannot run your sheep on such and such an allotment? They just get their reports from whoever they want and they just make the decisions so we go to court and we challenge and appeal and everything else. If some of this being driven by guys like John Marvel and the Sun Valley activists? Oh yeah. How do you think this is going to finally be resolved? Probably politically. One thing you going to have to get is a new administration and let it soak down to at least the forest level, it would be nice to go down to the district level but it down to the forest level, I mean you know they picked the science that they want to listen to.
