9-24 IAN Goodbye Diana
Say goodbye to Diana and hello to Lacey at the Idaho Bean Commission.
I have had the distinct pleasure of working with Diana Caldwell over the last several years in all things lentil, pea and bean. She has accepted every call I’ve made with grace and aplomb and so after hearing the news that she was going to retire, I had to have one last chat. “Why would you leave such a wonderful job? My husband has been retired for almost 3 years. While we both have our good health we want to travel and play golf and do some fun and exciting things. So what you are saying is that you want to get into that RV and head for the sun? No RV, we’re just going to go to motels and stay with relatives and make nuisances of ourselves. Tell me what you think the chances of your successor successfully succeeding you. No doubt about it, Lacey was my favorite pick for the position. Her experience with the Idaho Department of Agriculture is an enormous benefit for the being commission and I think she’s going to do a wonderful job. May I wish you the very best and have a great retirement. I’ve enjoyed working with you very much. Thank you David.
