8-9 SS Hunting Muley's

I had an absolutely fascinating conversation the other day with Dale Denney who owns Bear Paw Outfitters in Colville, WA. Dale’s operation concentrates on big game including mule deer. I’ve known a lot of guys that love hunting muley’s, very few of them have bragged about how delicious they are. So with that in mind I had a chat with Dale about the big draw. “I think one of the biggest things with mule deer is that you have two thirds of the United States that only have white tail and every one of those Whitetail hunters would like to, at some point in his life, kill a mule deer too because it is a different species. There is a huge draw to hunt mule deer in the Western states. I think that is a lot of the reason and there is an opportunity for guys  who have never got one, they want to go out West and get one. And then the guys that live out West, mule deer are an interesting animal to hunt. A lot of guys really get hooked on mule deer hunting. They can’t just leave me with that. They are an interesting animal to hunt for what reason? They are and majestic animal and they live in rough, scenic country, and actually getting a big mule deer is one of the toughest animals to get. Everyone has that dream of getting that 30 inch buck and the reality is that very few people ever attain it. The reason being? They are very wise and not a whole lot of them.
