Kids bored as summer winds to an end, I’m Susan Allen this is Open Range and after the break I’ll tell you about a online animal care training course for kids high school age and under. When I read about the Beef Cattle Institute new online  Youth Animal Care Training program with it’s  goal of  empowering  children and teens to be role models for the ranching industry,  I wondered  if it might have helped an extended  member of our family a few years back who became flustered when forced to defend his family’s ranching business at a camp that consisted of Southern California kids.  You see the Youth  Animal Care  training program is modeled after the highly acclaimed Beef Quality Assurance, Dairy  and Humane Equine Management  courses where over 8000 people to date have earned their certifications.  The Beef Cattle Institute was started in 2007 with a mission of keeping the ag industry up to  date with the most current research and education available so that producers can be successful . The new online Youth Animal Care  Training program has already issued 170 youth certifications since it began in February so if you got a future rancher or wanna,  be  whose  bored  as summer winds down  visit the   animalcaretraining.org web site to see how your young one can take part in this free program offered throughout the Beef Cattle Institute at Kansas State University. .
