Buffalo connoisseur and professional hunter filming wildlife in Africa.

 Mike Eastman originated the Eastman Hunting journals and it is not at all surprising given that he is a lifetime hunting enthusiast, outfitter, storyteller and videographer. I had a conversation with him the other day and he was telling me about his experiences in the 90s when he went to a place where Cape Buffalo thrive. “You lived in Tanzania? I actually went over there just to take a Cape buffalo and I had a guy I knew that is what I called a 2nd generation outfitter in Jackson Hole after I quit and I knew this guy and he was over there PHing is what it’s called and so I booked a hunt within one year and went over there and took a buffalo and a bunch of plains game and I liked it so much that I went over to that area where it’s got the biggest buffalo in Africa and got to be kind of like a buffalo connoisseur. I spent 5 summers over there filming and you have to apprentice for 2 years before you can get your P H  and so I was doing that and coming back year in the fall and winter and doing my stuff here. So I did that for 5 years, filmed lions and elephants, I’ve been charged by 2 or 3 buffalo and it was really Western over there when I was there in the 90s.
