David Allen President & Chief Executive Officer Of the Rocky Mountain elk foundation is very passionate about Wolf management given that he has observed a huge impact on the elk population throughout Colorado and the Northwest. Why is it that you folks have elected to put up money to help the government control wolves? We I sitting here right now in kind of a stalemate situation where federal budgets have been cut and will be continuing to be cut and state budgets are certainly thin in many areas and in the meantime wolves are reproducing. We don’t want to wait around for somebody to figure out how they are going to continue to fund wolf management and wolf control in any of these states. We want to be an active part of the solution. So that’s what we are trying to do. The states of Montana and Idaho both have the green light from the US Fish and Wildlife Service per the Endangered Species Act to manage wolves in their respective states. This is under the wolf management plans that they submitted. Those plans were approved before all of the litigation and lawsuits started flying.
