Nominate Your Favorite Farm Mom

Do you know an outstanding woman and mom involved in farming who deserves some recognition? Well thanks to Monsanto’s search for America’s Farmers Mom of the Year, your nominee might win the title as well as a $10,000 grand prize. Monsanto spokesperson, Jessica Simmons shares additional details about the program.

Simmons: “Every year we have a contest where people can nominate a farm mom that they know. It doesn’t have to be literally be their mom it could be your neighbor or your sister. The American Agri-Women pick the five regional winners and those regional winners are posted on our website and then popular vote determines the national winner.”

Anyone can nominate their favorite farm mom by visiting AmericasFarmers.com by April 23 and submitting a 300-word essay about their nominee. So what kind of farm mom are they are looking for?

Simmons: “We are looking for women who that not only work on the farm in some capacity, but who also advocate on behalf of agriculture and who are involved in their communities.”

Monsanto started this recognition program three years ago as a way to highlight the important role that women play in today’s agriculture as well as shine a spotlight on their many contributions.
