Ranchers aren’t as bad as the media and lawyers would have you believe.

Every once in a while things all seem to come together and the lid comes off my brain. One such incident occurred today when I reflected on some of the things that I’ve been reading in the news. The ICA intervened in the case on behalf of the state’s cattle producers to prevent WWP’s constant efforts to destroy Idaho’s cattle industry. In February the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) announced they’ll be reassessing their proposed rule related to child labor restrictions in agriculture which intended to restrict teenagers from being able to work on farms and ranches. The Idaho cattle Association regrets decisions being made with regard to the Clean Water Act that limit ranchers ability to function.  Then there are never-ending battles over slick spot pepper grass, how the cattle industry is destroying the sage grouse and ruining public lands by allowing cattle to graze. Now something calming  and sensible from Traci Bracco, Executive Director of the Idaho Beef Council.  “Cattlemen are the original caretakers of the land, they were green before green was the popular thing to do. They have been caring for the land for hundreds of years because they want to pass on to future generations. It is very important for them to do so and you have to  care for the land and your animals in order to do that.
