 I know I am a softy for the family tradition but in my mind isn’t that what it is all about? Passing along constructive hobbies and ethics to your children.  Jeff Streeter, creator of the very successful Lucky Bums Corporation which makes camo gear  for kids doesn’t just talk the talk, he walks the walk as an avid hunter, father, and hunting mentor. I asked him to tell me his favorite story and surprise, surprise, he had 2 separate episodes with his kids.  “Just in this past year, in 2011, my 10-year-old son shot his 1^st turkey. To be alongside him when he got his 1^st turkey was an experience. We got into a big flock of turkeys and worked the calls and he was in  between my legs as the bird came into our shooting lane, just being there and experiencing that excitement was profound. My 14-year-old son got his 1^st mule deer buck this year. We were hunting public land, tough country, steep, he actually put in a few days last year and was unsuccessful, put in a few more days this year so he was earning it. We definitely put some miles on and finally got an opportunity at a little mule deer buck, he actually made about a 300 yard shot, so it was epic. Of all the hunting stories. And I’ve got some pretty good stories, those 2 experiences that I had with my sons this year topped the charts.
