 I became enraged when I read a press release from the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association  which reminded me of stories that I have done in the past regarding publicly funded litigators who  relentlessly go after our cattlemen who are trying to make a living raising beef. Here is Dustin Van Liew, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) director of federal lands talking about radical environmental lawyers. “Radical special interest environmental groups have these teams of lawyers that do nothing but sit around looking for the federal government to miss a deadline by a couple of days or process paperwork in the wrong fashion and then they filed a lawsuit. The ultimate goal is to remove livestock grazing from the federal lands completely and over the last couple of years we have found that they have exploited a loophole in the equal access to justice act and have turned it into a cottage industry to continuously fund these litigation machines through your taxpayer and my taxpayer dollars and our members taxpayer dollars by prevailing in court on these processed lawsuits and the equal access to justice act requires that the federal government reimburse the attorney fees from these radical groups which further perpetuates their machines to continue to file lawsuits. So, in a sense, we are funding our own demise through our tax dollars going to lawsuits that are anti-grazing.
