1-5 FB Wolf Is A Wolf

The Idaho Cattleman’s Association had a recent referendum brought before its membership wherein a member of the Idaho Cattleman’s Association brought a resolution to annual convention to increase a per head assessment for animal damage control to help fund a predator control program. In a conversation with, ICA Director Wyatt Prescott, he repeatedly used the term predator control and I thought he was being politically correct. So listen in on the conversation that I followed up with. “You’re dancing around the predator control, you mean wolves. I do mean wolves but there are a lot of predators that need control. It’s everything from coyotes to Starlings and Sparrow abatement because they come in and eat feed, feedlots and dairies both use wildlife services and predator control for damage control. So it is not just wolves but wolves have caused and increase in expense and the amount of predator control needed. That’s interesting what you just said because Starlings and Sparrows can be rats of the sky, that they really do have an impact on feedlots? Oh yes they come in and peck and peck, and when you’re talking about the price of corn and grain these days, that’s even more of a factor.
