Executive Director Leaving

Executive Director Leaving

Executive Director Leaving. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Fruit Grower Report.

Robin Pollard has been steering the Washington Wine Commission for the last 6 years and has come to a crossroad. She has tendered her resignation but has no immediate plans.

POLLARD: I’m going to just take some time to figure out my own future. It’s something I’ve certainly been thinking about and then I’ll have the liberty to step back and figure out what I want to do when I grow up.

Looking ahead Pollard believes the future looks good for the industry.

POLLARD: I think that it’s going to continue to grow. We’ve got incredible people in the industry; strong leaders that are doing phenomenal work whether it’s in the vineyard or whether it’s in the cellar. And I also think we’ve got a tremendous amount of support from people in the wine trade who will help spread the news about all the exciting things that are happening here.

She’s really proud of how the industry has grown.

POLLARD: I think taking the Washington Wine Commission to a whole new level of achievement and recognition both nationally and internationally. We constantly receive feedback from wine trade. We constantly get kudos from the trade about how well organized, the quality, experience that we provide to them, how professional it is. I’m really, really proud of the reputation of the wine commission.

That’s today’s Fruit Grower Report. I’m Greg Martin on the Ag Information Network.
