 Food shortages have become a growing concern across the world, even in the United States, as food prices rise dangerously high. The World Bank has said that the cost of basic food was up 36% from the same time last year in March, and since June last year, 44 million people had fallen below the poverty line around the world as a result of higher food prices. New technological advancements in the hydroponic industry; however, could hold the solution to world hunger.

Paul Bretlinger is the President and CEO of Crop King which is a leader in the controlled environment agriculture and hydroponics industry and they are using a new technology to increase crop yields by 30 percent? “ I am not necessarily an expert as to why food shortages exist across the world but we offer solutions that help combat food shortages because hydroponics and controlled environment agriculture because you can get so much more production out of a smaller space”

Mr. Breitlinger  says that he has gotten a great reception from the traditional farming community in the sense that if someone wants to become a farmer he is able to do so without having to pay huge amounts of money for farmland. The crop King solution is to put up greenhouses and hydroponically grow all kinds of vegetable crops.
