9-26 SS Different baits

9-26 SS Different baits

One potential key to a successful fishing trip. diversity, think different, don’t be afraid to do a changeup.

Peter Flohr from Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee, Washington is one successful and dedicated fisherman. I talk to him often about fishing strategies that he uses, particularly with Salmon.  I will tell you one thing, his mind is always working. Listen in on a recent conversation. “Whether it’s a cut plug, a super bait, a mini cut plug, we try different things, my partner Don is very much into R&D, here’s the guy who invented the lollipop, he has invented 5 or 6 different lures that you probably know over the course of his career in fishing, he is the guy who invented the super bait, you open the thing up and the most common thing we put inside of it is tuna with garlic. When you are talking scent and garlic, that’s powerful. Oh yes. The garlic is really strong. I can still smell it on my hands and washed  them 45 times and taken two showers and I can still smell the garlic. This morning we were not looking up so we switched to a mini cut plug and bang we hooked up. Not afraid to try different things, not afraid to throw something crazy out there. You never know. We have a lot of fun. And we catch a lot of fish.
