NRCS AWARDS GRANTS FOR CONSERVATION DEMONSTRATION PROJECTS

Six agricultural projects received funding through the Conservation Innovation Grant program from the Natural Resources Conservation Service. The program helps accelerate technology transfer and adoption of promising agricultural methods that address natural resource loss on cropland.

For further clarification, here is Public Affairs Specialist Alexis Collins:“The grant program was set up, not for research, but to help people who have actually done some research and want to demonstrate that here is an application of a technique that might help save money, save energy, help crop yields better, so the grants are for folks who want to demonstrate some things that they believe will work and it is kind of a technology transfer.”

“The Conservation Innovation Grant program is designed to demonstrate new techniques that have potential to solve natural resource problems,” said Jeff Burwell, State Conservationist for Idaho NRCS. “By funding these on-the-ground conservation projects, we hope to find creative solutions to common problems that producers can use.”
