Farming, snowboarding and near death. A good friend to all of us in the Ag community here in Idaho had quite an ordeal. Sid Freeman as the heart of the lion and the mind set of a competitor. Maybe a little too much competitor. Listen: “I have been snowboarding for 14 years with my sons because the winters are kind of slow.  We just absolutely love snowboarding. It was a passion. We were speed freaks. We didn’t do the jumping in the air and spinning around and all of that kind of stuff. That’s dangerous you can break bones like that.” You wanted to take the safe route right? Yes

(laughter).  “I wouldn’t say we were expert but I would say we were well advanced. We really liked going fast. We had the perfect morning on December 23. It was about 25°, the slopes were groomed, and the snow was very icy. So freshly groomed frozen snow, that’s as fast as you can get and we got dumped onto  the steepest run that Bogus Basin has and we got up to about 60 mph.” Tomorrow will hear what happened but I don’t think it’s good.
