RULEMAKING TO UPDATE CAFO SITE ADVISORY TEAM RULE
The Idaho State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) is seeking public input to incorporate new county CAFO definitions and applications fees paid by the individual requesting the CAFO Site Advisory Team pursuant to the approved House Bill 150 from the 2011 Idaho Legislature session. Fascinating language, however, what does it mean? We went to ISDA spokesperson John Bilderback: “ during the 2011  legislative session, the rules for poultry jurisdiction for poultry was transferred from DEQ to department of ag so we are in the process of putting together a rule covering the department’s oversight of the poultry industry in Idaho. The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is looking to oversee the poultry industry? We  have been given the authority to oversee poultry operations so we are putting in place a rule that will guide in overseeing poultry operations for the state. ISDA will oversee operations related to waste containment, her permitting and nutrient management concerns.
