Idaho crop progress and conditions brought to you exclusively by the United States Department of Agriculture National Agricultural Statistics Service. I’m David Sparks.
I will tell you when the NASS does something, they do it right. I got a report and it includes an agricultural summary, soil moisture and days suitable for field work, field crop report, livestock pasture and range report, a crop progress table and so much more. Here is an NASS spokesperson Vince Matthews: “That is a report that we put out every Monday and so we will have another one coming out this Monday and it has the progress for the previous week in terms of field work progress and how far along farmers are in planting their crops. We do that every week through the growing season. The last one came out a week ago, we’ve had a good week this past week in terms of weather so I think we’ll see some definite progress over what we had a week ago. So what you’re saying is that the weather is improving, correct? Yes a week ago we reported a second week of cool temperatures and rain and I think this past week has been better.
