4-4 IAN Oil Webinar

4-4 IAN Oil Webinar

The Idaho Wheat Commission will be presenting a web-based grower education seminar (webinar).   The webinar will be approximately one hour and it’s free! April 7 at 8:00 a.m. MST is on the following subject:  “What You Need to Know About EPA’s Fuel Containment Rules.”  If your farm stores, transfers, uses, or consumes oil or oil products be sure to participate in this informational webinar.  The website is Idaho wheat.org.  The  SPCC stands for oil spill prevention control and countermeasure program and that’s something EPA has had in place for a lot of years, a lot of farmers have not known about it and this is for any farmer who stores more than 1320 US gallons in off of ground containers or more than 42,000 US gallons in buried containers. If you have more than 10,000 gallons stored of diesel, gasoline or oil on your farm you are required by EPA to have a professional engineer certify your plan. If you have below 10,000 you can prepare your own plan, but it does have to be a plan and it has to be in place by November 10, 2011 and Greg Wigle from EPA will be participating on this webinar as well as Clint Evans from the NRCS to help farmers implement these SPCC plans.” Go to the website Idaho  wheat.org to learn more information.
