  Legalizing marijuana in Idaho? I’m David Sparks and that topic is next. Montana, Oregon, Colorado, California…Western States are falling like dominoes in terms of allowing medical marijuana.  I asked the Governor of Idaho what his thoughts were on this subject.

“Well it sounds like nullification of the federal law to me. In fact I remember when Ashcroft and Bush pushed for outlawing marijuana any use of marijuana in fact  Tried to sue or was calling to  brought legislation to the Congress and I voted against their bill, I said California  if that’s what they want to do as far as I’m concerned that’s up to them. Would you do it in Idaho I said no.  You know there’s a lot of things those two states do that I don’t want to have any part of and continue not to have any part of. Its unfortunate that they don’t realize,  as my wife was a schoolteacher, health teacher, and English teacher, PE and the vice principal said you know it’s a gateway it’s a gateway drug,  I asked Brian Schweitzer because they’re trying to reverse their process over in Montana, they have medical marijuana. He said if you find the right doctor you can get a prescription you want.” So when legalized, I can go to my physician and say I need to get high because I’ve got back pain. He writes a script for twenty joints a week. This isn’t an editorial but I am a Dad to 2 teenagers and serve with Idaho’s Office of Drug Policy. How do I tell my children “Just say No” when they see that pot is legal. You’ve got to be kidding.
