 The Governor says that Idaho is coming back.

I recently sat down with Governor Otter and had a very candid discussion about Idaho’s economy. I asked him does the fact that Idaho has a huge interest in agriculture and ag had one of the best years ever, help Idaho recover? “Your statement included a most important qualification. That is the best year that it’s had in a long time. Ag usually runs in a 4-5 year cycle. So you lose money for several years, then you break even, then you make some money. If you’ve got some losses from the past that you can carry forward it foretells that ag is doing very well. So is lumber and mining.  But we still have to be prudent. We’re at a point where we have to look for every efficiency we can find and also say if the government wasn’t intended to do this the government’s not gonna do it.”
