Ford Recall & Dairy Industry on Guidelines

Ford Recall & Dairy Industry on Guidelines. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Northwest Report.

If you own a 2009 or 2010 Ford F-150 pickup be aware that Ford Motor Company is recalling nearly 218,000 F-150 pickup trucks in the United States. The recall is due to a potential problem with the interior door handles. The National Highway Safety Administration says a part in the assembly could fracture, preventing the door latch from fully closing. A side impact crash could cause the door to open.

Greg Miller, Executive Vice President for the National Dairy Council and a PhD in Nutrition Science is pleased with the new dietary guidelines and the recognition that dairy plays a role in helping combat heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure and other chronic diseases.

MILLER: One of the most exciting pieces was the recognition that adequate intakes of dairy foods can reduce your risk of heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure. I think that’s a huge step forward for our industry to get the health professional community to finally recognize the need to consume adequate amounts of dairy to lower your risk of heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure.

Now here’s today’s Washington Grange report.
