LUNA Sensation Fungicide

LUNA Sensation Fungicide

LUNA Sensation Fungicide. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Fruit Grower Report.

Orchardists in the northwest will soon have another tool in their belt to manage a number of problems. Herb Young is the Fungicide Product Manager for Bayer CropScience.

YOUNG: We’ve got a brand new fungicide that should be registered the second half of 2011, LUNA Sensation and it’s a brand new chemistry from Bayer CropScience, the LUNA portion of it and we’ve premixed it with trifloxystrobin which is already accepted and a very effective product.

Young says that the two are actually synergistic.

YOUNG: There’s a scientific synergism. You mix them together and the result is better than the sum of the two. The levels of efficacy we get are exceptional and our researchers in France, one of the quotes we’ve had in the discovery lab, they said it’s the highest level of powdery mildew activity of any product they’ve ever tested.

He also says that it will be available for multiple products.

YOUNG: LUNA Sensation is going to be registered on all the stone fruit and all the pome fruit when we’re clear with EPA and some of things we’re seeing is the efficacy in the field is so good when you control disease completely and fruit comes out of the field with no infection and no innoculum, it lasts longer in storage.
