CSP sign up period extended

CSP sign up period extended

Washington Ag Today January 6, 2011 USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service has announced the ranking period cut-off date for producer applications in the Conservation Stewardship Program has been extended to January 21st. The previous deadline was January 7th but Washington Assistant State Conservationist Dave Brown says the extension to January 21st will help farmers, ranchers and forestry producers by giving them more time and allow even more producers to participate in the CSP program.

Brown says all producers are encouraged to apply for CSP including owners of non-industrial forestland. He says private forest landowners may not be aware of the financial assistance opportunities afforded by the program.

Now this from Stockland Livestock

This is Jack McQuiness with Stockland Livestock here in Davenport. Light run here this week with an awful strong market on all classes of cattle. Cows and bulls a couple of dollars higher. Had some $70 cows here on Monday. Have a regular cattle sale coming up this next Monday. That will be the 10th and a big special feeder and stock cow sale coming up on the 17th. We will have bred heifers. We’ve got stock cows and we will have a big run of feeder cattle. A very strong market all the way around. Stockland Livestock here in Davenport. Thanks for listening. Thanks for you business.

Thanks Jack.
