AP's 2010 Athletes And Runner Up Are Fast Females!
Girls ruled in sports this past year, judging by whom the Associated Press selected as the top two athletes for 2010. One was a late bloomer commencing her sport at three, the other debuted remarkably as a two year old. I’m Susan Allen stay tuned for Open Range to hear who they are. Both of the females selected for the Associated Press’s athlete of the year and runner up are stunning, leggy and tough. One sports a mane of thick blond hair the other’s shiny well groomed and black . Both are fast, dang fast, breaking speed records for their respective sports. Skiing sensation Lindsey Vonn garnered 77 of the 175 votes becoming the first skier, male or female to win AP athlete of the year award since it began back in 1931. Her runner up, wasn’t used to placing second, having lost only one race in her illustrious carrier of 20 starts, the lovely and gutsy Thoroughbred Zenyatta. Don’t assum Zeneyatta was the one who began her quest at two. Ms.Vonn gets that honor. Zeneyatta was a late bloomer, running her first race at three at Hollywood Park and she's already retired at six. The beautiful mare will bring at least six figures for each baby she foals but Lindsey’s still set to outpace Zeneyattas earnings as she already has a Sports Ilustrated swim suit issue, plus commercials for Vail, Red Bull, Procter and Gambel and other sponsorships under her belt . Congratulations to two of Americas most remarkable and memorable female athletes.
