12-14 IAN IBC Annual Report

 The Idaho Beef Council (IBC) announced the release of their 2010 Annual Report recently. The report summarizes the various marketing, promotions and public relations programs implemented by the IBC during fiscal year 2010.

 “The annual report is our opportunity to keep Idaho cattle producers informed about how their checkoff dollars are used to increase the demand for beef,” said Traci O’Donnell, Executive Director of the Idaho Beef Council.

 Yearly, the eight member board of directors sets priorities for staff to conduct consumer-focused programs and retail and foodservice marketing projects to increase beef demand. .  Priorities are also set in the areas of producer communications and issues management. With direction of these priorities, the staff carries out these programs so that Idaho cattle producers’ dollars are used as efficiently as possible.

 Promotions or no promotions, the issue that really counts is how do beef producers feel about the year 2010 and the IBC’s Program Manager Kara Davis responded: “I think we’ve done a good job utilizing their checkoff dollars through different partnerships with state beef councils as well as retail and food service.”

 Other highlights from the report include IBC’s involvement with Idaho health organizations. such as the Idaho Dietetics Association and the Idaho Medical Association.
