Continuing our 3-part series on e-mails from angry listeners over the BLM releasing the names of cattlemen using public lands to graze, I got this little zinger.

 “Maybe because it is the American Taxpayers who pay for the administration of the Public Lands Grazing Program to the tune of nearly a BILLION dollars a year...even though that "handful" of public lands (welfare) ranchers produce less than 3% of our nations beef, and maybe because our govt is killing off all the natural preditors to also protect the welfare ranchers cows, as well as running our National Herds of Wild (and Free-roaming) Equines off of our public lands to make more room for their damn cows. Maybe because we want to know the people we are paying for their DESTRUCTION of our American West. Just like govt contractors,...Americans HAVE A RIGHT to know, and thats why we WANT to know.

Here’s Wyatt Prescott, Executive Director of the Idaho Cattleman’s Association: “I don’t know where to start on that one David. Is it true that the public lands grazing program costs a $ billion /year? No. The public lands grazing program is the only sustainable use of that land. Every job on the ranch produces seven jobs in town. Utilizing those resources in a renewable fashion to improve them and sustain them into the future both ecologically and economically.”
