11-9 FB Otter on Energy

Is Idaho making a transition to alternative energy? If you listen to Governor Otter you’ll get an answer. I’m David Sparks and that’s next. We’ve had lots of discussions over the last two years about alternative energy…ethanol, camalina seed, algae, wind, solar. I recently asked Governor Otter…How big is energy? We’ve become the green spot. We’ve become the green thumb of the nation, the green spot. Idaho is the new hot spot of green energy because of the amount of wind energy especially over in Pocatello. Wind, solar, bio-mass, geothermal, you name it, Idaho because of our highly educated and well motivated work force, because of our low and consistently stable tax structure, and our refusal to run out and regulate everything that somebody thinks that we should, they look at Idaho as a good place to do business, a good place to create career path jobs. We want a 20 year old to work here and retire here.
