November Weather

November Weather

November Weather. I'm Greg Martin with today's Fruit Grower Report. The calendar has changed again and Thanksgiving will soon be here so what will the weather be like for November. The Ag Network's staff meteorologist, Tim Creek has a look. CREEK: In a very general sense I am still looking for a somewhat cooler and wetter than average November but I think we're going to see two halves to the month. The first half where the temperatures are close to average and precipitation is just about normal. We'll probably see some areas of high pressure at times giving us two and three days of decent conditions. At the same time somewhat of an active weather pattern is expected over the area but having said that I wouldn't anticipate anything too far out of the unusual for this time of year. And what about that second half prediction? CREEK: Right now there are some signs that we could see some high pressure trying to build into the region towards the middle of the month. It's not necessarily a good thing for this time of year because what I think is going to happen is the high pressure is going to shift off back to the west and it will open up the door from the north for some colder arctic air to drop into the region so I think through the month of November it's that latter part of the month we're going to have to watch because I do think we're going to see a shot of colder arctic air drop into the area sometime during the second half of the month and that's going to set us up for a cold and somewhat wet December. That's today's Fruit Grower Report. I'm Greg Martin on the Ag Information Network.
