The University of Idaho's Aberdeen Research and Extension Center recently presented its small grains research program to representatives of 23 nations during a USDA Foreign Agricultural Service-sponsored tour. The Aberdeen center plays host to foreign visitors several times a year who want to assess research and variety development efforts related to primarily potatoes or grains. Both globally important crops underpin a long research partnership between the USDA Agricultural Research Service and the university's College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the Aberdeen center.

Several prominent people come in from a number of countries. Steve Love, Aberdeen superintendent said. "We'll give them our best and I think they'll be interested in what we have to show them." One goal is increased Idaho sales: “That’s what we hope.

Tour participants reviewed the center's work on wheat and barley, small grains and potato germplasm research unit and were shown some of the work being done in the wheat quality lab and with genetics.
