GOP's Pledge & Baby Formula Recall

GOP's Pledge & Baby Formula Recall. I'm Greg Martin with today's Northwest Report. The GOP has introduced their "Pledge to America," a plan to help put America back on track with more jobs, reduced spending, improved national security and congressional reform. As with a lot of things it's a good plan and Washington Congressman Doc Hastings says if given the chance it could be effective. HASTINGS: If we had just the promise to have an up or down vote on some of these aspects I think it would pass and the only way we can try to get to that point is to pressure the Democrat leadership to at least have a debate on that. Part of the criticism I think of the Congress has been there has been very little debate. The pressure has to come but we believe this is the proper way to govern and the way to govern is to have votes on issues that may or may not pass but let's have a vote on it. Millions of containers of Similac infant formula are being recalled since they may be contaminated with insect parts. The voluntary action affects up to 5 million Similac-brand powder formulas sold in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam and some Caribbean countries. The company said the products may contain a small beetle or larvae, which could cause stomach ache and digestion problems. Abbott Laboratories uncovered the insects last week in one section of a manufacturing plant in Sturgis, Mich. Now here's today's Washington Grange Report. (GRANGE) That's today's Northwest Report. I'm Greg Martin on the Ag Information Network.
