 Being a kid Farmer is definitely cool. Oh…and it can get you elected. I’m David Sparks and I’ll fill in the details in a minute.

Sam Mickelsen’s a farm boy from Idaho Falls. But he’s proud of his roots and decided to wear his pride as a political motivator. He recently ran for Junior Class President at Skyline High, Idaho Falls, ID, by using a "Take you for a ride in my big green tractor" theme. As a typical farm boy, Sam has a love for John Deere tractors, & is known at school as a tractor fanatic. For his election campaign he made a video on Facebook & YouTube about his intentions. On election day, Sam drove his family’s 7630 tractor to school. He hoisted John Deere flags & “Vote for Sam” posters from the tractor to ensure students understood his commitment. After the video & speech presentation, his friends ran around the gym with John Deere flags & handed out key chains with "vote for Sam" stickers. “I just started out making it a John Deere theme. First I made my video not knowing what was going to happen.”  I’ll tell you what happened… Sam was elected. Part of the video had Sam singing “She thinks my tractor’s sexy.” We’ll leave you with his voice.
