8-10 IAN Beep-Beep 1

While visiting with the Governor, I learned about a new technology for producers…but I didn’t learn it from the governor. I’m David Sparks and I’ll be right back to explain. I was on my way to a meeting with a group of ag producers in downtown Boise the other day and I was walking along State Street next to the Capital Building. I hear this familiar voice saying “Good Morning David”, and I look up and it’s Governor Otter. I walked over and we had a warm handshake and walked together to the same meeting. So we get to the meeting room, and here’s where it gets weird. Just as we were going to walk into the meeting room, the Chairman of the meeting, Rick Waitley, asks us to please wait outside the room because an important vote was being taken. The Governor made a joke about it like “I hope you’re not trying to vote me out of office or something” and everybody laughed.

While we were waiting outside, bean farmer and lawmaker Jim Patrick walked up and started chatting with us. All of a sudden a little beep-beep went off somewhere and the Governor said “Is that my phone? No it couldn’t be, I don’t have my phone with me” That’s when Jim spoke up. “Most phones you can make different tones for different callers or different messages. With mine for text messages I’ve got one tone, for e-mails I’ve got another, and a different one for calls. And then my pivots, I can make it a different tone.”

Pivots…with a tone…on the phone? Tune in tomorrow.
