8-6 IAN Precision Ag

We’ve talked a lot about precision agriculture here in Idaho because of the efficiency it brings to farming. And when it comes to precision agriculture - there are some steps farmers can take to maintain their tools and optimize performance. Les Ahrends is Regional Sales Manager for TeeJet Technologies - a leader in precision application components. He says there are keys to optimizing precision ag tool performance: “First one is look for recent software updates from the manufacturer of your equipment. Another thing is once you’ve done your installation, always check routing of cables or other hydraulic hoses to make sure nothing’s shifted after the installation.

Ahrends notes computers can crash - so it’s important to back-up files and data regularly to avoid losing data. He also offers advice to producers who are considering a precision ag purchase. He says farmers often expect too much - so they should know what they’re looking for and keep realistic expectations
