7-15 FB Energy Development
A recent headline in the Statesman called Idaho the “Green Energy State”. That sounds exciting but there’s a catch. I’m David Sparks and I’ll be right back to explain. Thirteen journalist from foreign countries recently visited our state and they were sponsored by Idaho's Department of Commerce. Our state leadership is trying to make an international statement that Idaho is on the brink of being a center for green energy development. Here’s John Crockett from the Department of Energy: “Those folks over at Dept. of Commerce have done really good. They’ve got a guy over there, Layne Packwood, who’s a smart go getter and he’s assigned a person to every renewable technology. He has a solar person, a wind person, geo-thermal person and they have very aggressively working to bring in those industries in the state. His staff is young, beautiful, brilliant women and I think that helps attract business. Funny how that works.
The part that’s a catch is we aren’t growing many bio-fuel crops.
