Clore Center Benefit

Clore Center Benefit. I'm Greg Martin with today's Fruit Grower Report. The Walter Clore Wine & Culinary Center is getting a financial boost from Columbia Crest winery. Erin Shane, Associate Communications Manager for Columbia Crest says they are doing a wine release party. SHANE: As you probably know Columbia Crest 2005 Reserve Cab was the number one wine in the world by Wine Spectator magazine last year and that was a really big deal for us and the Washington State wine industry because we were the first Washington State wine to receive the number one ranking so we are now releasing our 2007 Reserve Cab and we thought this would be a great opportunity to celebrate that great accolade we got last November. Along with the release of the 2007 Reserve Cab, Shane says there are a number of other things happening. SHANE: We wanted to also have all the proceeds go to the Walter Clore Wine & Culinary Center. We do have the Walter Clore Reserve Red wine in our reserve portfolio and then to raise additional funds by doing some raffles and auctions and one of them, very exciting, will be that 6-vintage vertical which will include the 05 Reserve cab in it. The event takes place on Saturday, August 21 at both Columbia Crest in Patterson and in Seattle. SHANE: Go to our website ColumbiaCrest.com and if you go to the events page you can buy tickets online and the ticket price includes heavy appetizers and a commemorative wine glass to take home with them. We'll have music and our winemakers will be giving tours throughout the day, too. That's today's Fruit Grower Report. I'm Greg Martin on the Ag Information Network.
