After hearing how Americans have united to aide tsunami victims I was extremely offended, when a UN talking head from a minor European country called America stingy. Stingy! I guess it wasn't enough last year to spend $2.4 billion on relief aide, about 40 percent of all world aide combined. Stingy, this misguided monger didn't realize that being a "Christian" nation, means we give above what we are taxed, of our free will personally and corporately to hundreds of relief organizations like Food For the Hungry and World Vision.. Food For the Hungry operates on an annual budget of over $76 million with more than 93 percent of its total income ending up in the field meaning less bureaucracy and efficient giving. The audacity of a UN official, ripe from the recent Food for Oil scandal chastising our giving! His comments caused the foolish UN fellow to pack peddle faster than our president could deploy a carrier strike force within just 17 hours of the disaster, manned I might add by Americas' sons and daughters.
