Food & Wine

Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and today is food and wine pairing day, and we are going to talk about feeding extended stay guests. Let's talk about what to feed them and of course what wine goes well with it. When you have a house full of people; I think buffet and barbecue are the two magic words. It is easy to marinate flank steaks and sides of salmon and wrap up veggies in aluminum foil and put it all on the grill. Open simple wines like Chardonnay and Merlot, they are certain crowd pleasers. For lunches I like sandwiches with something on the side. I make pasta salads ahead of time and stick them in the frig. We keep low alcohol wines, like Riesling, just for the lunchtime crowd. One of my favorite and easy meals is to grill chicken breasts and prawns to toss on top of a Caesar Salad. When served with garlic bread and Pinot Gris you have a perfectly satisfying and easy dinner for a crowd. With a lot of people around try a turkey breast with pesto into the crock-pot. Serve it with Sauvignon Blanc or Chianti Classico and it will be perfect. For dessert nothing beats cookies and fresh fruit or maybe just a glass of ice wine all by itself. But most of all enjoy your guests! And thanks for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
